When two desperate men exhume the sword of a legendary warlord, they awaken a buried power born of cosmic ruin - one that fed on truth, fractured a nation, and was never truly laid to rest.
Patrick McNerney and Daniel Jones have been collaborating partners in music, film, and other creative projects in and around Houston, TX for many years, culminating in their directoriatl debut under their own banner.
"The Sanguine" is currently procuring distribution for an early-mid 2026 release, while continuing to earn multiple wins on the international film festival circuit.

"The Elder" - Daniel Jones

"The Sanguine" - Josiah Brett

A crestfallen master and outcast servant rob the grave of a long-dead warlord, only to discover he has returned to defend it.

After collaborating in music, film, and other creative projects in and around Houston, TX for many years, Daniel and I set out to create a short film under our own banner driven by story, atmosphere, and ambitions fitting a directorial debut.
The result is a dark moral horror within a medieval fantasy context that explores uncomfortable ideas like weaponized truth, moral decay, civilizational collapse, the dishonest exploitation of narrative, power that scales faster than wisdom, and the culmination of their associated inevitabilities.
We produced “The Sanguine” entirely independently, with virtually no financial resources and all disciplines fulfilled between us, including digital and practical VFX, sound design and original classical score, production design, location, casting, cinematography, and of course, writing and directing.
This allowed us full creative control from concept through to final cut, enabling what we believe to be a visually striking, atmospheric film that feels much larger than its runtime and budget.
Beyond the festival circuit, we made “The Sanguine” to stand as a proof-of-concept; something to demonstrates tone, world-building, and visual storytelling in a way that could translate to longer-form work.
We hope audiences experience the film as a journey – one that lingers beyond it’s final frame.
